She spoke to people and they told her the problems they faced 

and they always looked at her with respect and awe and admiration 

because they thought she was so perfect, 

that she had sailed her ship so smoothly and gracefully 

that she needn’t worry at all about anything in life. 

She had smiled. And she had thanked them. 

Little did they know that she had once fallen into a trench darker and deeper than they could ever have imagined 

and she had found her way out of the blackness and carried on. 

That was the ‘perfection’ they saw.
