NOT LISTENING

He stood quietly as his teacher reprimanded him.

“You’re too different,” she said. “You do everything different all the time. ALL THE TIME. It’s annoying. You should try to be more like the others, so you can fit in better. You should follow the class, not do whatever whenever you want.”

She wouldn’t understand if he explained. She didn’t even ask for an explanation. 

All she wanted to do was to get her point across and maintain peace. 

He was going to be polite to her. But something in him was determined not to just blindly obey her.
