Caroline couldn't believe her eyes. 

There, right in front of her, she saw a picture of them together taken a couple days ago. 

She had taken it all the wrong way. Once again. 

It made no sense. 

No, wait. It did, didn't it? 

Not once had he personally told Caroline that he had a thing for her. Not once had he told her he had broken up with his gf. 

It was all in Caroline's head. Everything, from start to finish. 

He was just being a gentleman. And she had mistaken his kindness for something else. 

She literally felt like the dumbest creature on the planet. She was stunned by how much time she had wasted over him by letting her imagination run wild. 

She opened her phone and deleted all his messages instantly. She felt sick to her stomach. 

This was not the guy for her. Never was, never would be. 

And Caroline was too strong, too sassy, too independant to spend any more time whining over someone who didn't even notice her. Hell, no. Not Caroline. 

She put on rap music, and started working away on her laptop. There was work to be done. There was a life to live.
