HOPE FOR WHAT IS TO COME

And another day dawns

It feels like someone has pressed Repeat on the days

It’s the same routine everyday

And everyday I learn more, grow more

And end up missing you more

But today I make the conscious effort to see beauty in the day

Today the birds are chirping a little louder than before

The sun isn’t so blinding on my eyes, that I need to run to the shade

The sky is a clearer blue

And the city looks a little calmer, feels a little lighter

Today doesn’t look so bad

Today looks like I could make something out of it

Today looks like watering the flowers in my soul myself

Today looks like solitude that doesn’t feel so alone

Today looks like hope

Hope for what is, and hope for what is to come
