HAPPINESS HAD BEEN ALL ALONG

I used to think

That happiness lay somewhere else

That happiness started with someone else

That happiness was a destination

I thought I was sad

Struggling, uncertain

And it wasn’t until years later

When I had reached the destination

And looked back and realised

That happiness had been all along

It had started with family

A universe worth of irreplaceable love

Happiness is in this moment

When I am young

When I love and am loved

All throughout the little things, throughtout every day, and every age,

 with the amazing people who

show up in my life

I am blessed

I am grateful

And no matter what happens,

I will be happy.
