THAT GIRL IS A DESERT STORM

She closes her eyes and thinks about days long gone by. 

And without exactly meaning to, she sees him. She sees how he looked at her with awe. She sees how he used to hold her at such a high position. The respect he had for her. 

She sees him expecting great things out of her. 

And then the worst part. 

She sees her fall. She sees herself going from being the best to being the worst. She sees her lack of mental control over herself. 

She sees his silence. She sees his quiet disappointment. And what hurts her heart is that she sees him reprimanding himself for having had such high hopes for her. She sees him saying that he will do better next time when it comes to girls. 

And she is so disappointed with herself, that she can’t even feel the pain of this person leaving. 

He is long gone. It’s been years. 

She stands by herself in the desert of her life. She looks around. 

She closes her eyes. She understands his drive for the best, and only the best. 

She opens her eyes again. And swears to change everything in this desert.
