She sat near him in silence. 

This was not the same guy she had known three years ago. He had changed and he had changed drastically.

His mind worked at a different level now. His focus, his aim, everything. He gave off a different, more powerful vibe now.

And she missed the loud laughter from days gone by. She missed the carefree conversations, she missed the silly giggling and nagging. 

She missed it so much, she had to fight back tears. She couldn't become a crying mess in front of him. He probably wouldn't even understand the mountain of emotions she had for him. 

She couldn't connect with him. She felt stupid sitting there. Brandon had outgrown her.

She excused herself and went to the washroom. And stood in front of the mirror staring at herself. 

"Time and patience", she said. This was not the time to miss the past. This was the time to be understanding.

"I will not be outgrown", she whispered. "I'll learn. I'll become what it takes. But I shall not be outgrown."
