MONSTERS
There was all this stuff inside his head that JUST HAD TO GET OUT.
He needed to channel it into something. This whole thinking-->getting sad-->feeling helpless chain was not working out too well for him.
He was astonished at how low he could feel and how low he could think himself into feeling.
STOP. STOP. STOP.
He needed to do something about it. Something solid. Something liberating. He had to learn how to tame the monsters running around inside; howling and gnawing at him.
